Genome Biology
| The Genome Biology track provides a focused area of training and research for MCB graduate students. The goal of this track is to train students in understanding and applying molecular biology, genetics, genomics and bioinformatics towards an inherently interdisciplinary research environment. | |
|
Students pursuing degrees within this track will have the opportunity to explore biological and computational questions at the whole-genome level with emphasis on hands-on training, balanced with an appropriate level of coursework. Faculty associated with the Genome Biology Track pursue diverse biological interests using genome-scale approaches. Members of the track will be associated with the Center for Genome Research and Biocomputing (CGRB) which is home to OSU's high-throughput robotics, genomics services, and computing resources for genomics applications. Students will fulfill the MCB core requirements and sample from a variety of additional courses designed to train students for computationally intensive genome biology research. The additional courses within the Genome Biology track framework will provide the students flexibility in creating a training environment suited to their background and individual research interests. |
